An artist associated with the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label became a "viral" sensation, reaching millions of fans around the world with his music.
Together with artists such as Ólafur Arnalds, Hania Rani, Max Richter and Nils Frahm, he recalls the wonderful tradition of piano music in a contemporary context. The over 2-meter tall Dutchman combines the characteristic image of an unruly bearded man with extremely elegant and emotional music reminiscent of ambient and neoclassical. His wonderful concert at the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra during the Tauron Nowa Muzyka festival in Katowice received wide attention in Poland.
His work is, as he says, "a quiet rebellion against madness". He is inspired by ancient Eastern philosophy and spirituality, and the latest album "Hermetism" is a return to his pianistic roots and a tribute to Paris. As he says: "it's an album in search of universal ideas. I hope it will have a comforting and communal effect on listeners." It is music that combines poignant melancholy with an offer of hope. "I returned to the piano to feel at home and at peace with myself and my surroundings," notes Beving.
"Hermetism" is also permeated by the Parisian spirit and aura of the city on the Seine, which is particularly close to the creator. "I treated Paris as a metaphor for Western civilization," says Beving. Songs such as the absinthe-inspired "La fée verte" and "Paris s'enflamme" are the artist's tribute to the French capital.
