Daydreamer is twelve original arrangements of Radiohead songs for piano solo, which together form a fresco full of meanings and colors. It is a very personal musical statement by Bartek Wąsik, one of the leading Polish pianists, composer and arranger, an artist who exceeds the limits of sound in his activities. For the love of Radiohead songs, the musician created surprising versions of them. As he admits, the songs of the English group accompanied him in important life situations for years. "They are fertile soil from which my own sensitivity draws" - he emphasizes - "they make me vibrate slightly, they do not leave me alone. They open up a world of associations that I wanted to share."
Daydreamer is for those who feel like outsiders at times. As Thom Yorke sang, "I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo." For dreamers who see hidden meanings and symbols in the real world. Bartek Wąsik finds new threads in well-known works. He is guided by intuition and great knowledge of both Radiohead's work and various musical genres that he has been practicing for years: from folk, through piano classics, to experimental and avant-garde works. His music evokes the expression of the originals, even if it seems to radically reverse their character. The first track on the album, Everything In Its Right Place, is a declaration: everything is as it is meant to be. Premonitions flourishing in music. Daydreamer is also a tribute to the beloved instrument of Bartek Wąsik - the piano, the sound of which in this project surprises with an infinite palette of colors, in all their shades. This is a musical autograph of this original artist.
